St. Rose Health Center is again taking the opportunity to connect with the community during the annual Women’s Expo by offering several free tests and educational materials.
The event, which is sponsored by the Great Bend Tribune, is set for 3:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22 at the Great Bend Event Center.
“We are always excited when the Women’s Expo rolls around each year,” said Mark Mingenback, St. Rose corporate health consultant. “It is the perfect venue for talking one-on-one with our patients and others in the community in a comfortable, casual setting.”
A few St. Rose highlights include:
o University of Kansas Hospital dermatologists will offer cancer screenings.
o The heel-test machine will check for osteoporosis.
o The Derma Scan will screen for facial cancer.
o WellnessWorks will offer blood-pressure checks and body-mass-index screenings.
o Visitors will learn about the long list of Hays Medical Center specialists available in Great Bend.
“This is an amazing line-up of services and educational information,” Mingenback commented. “Our representatives will not make specific diagnoses but if test results raise questions, women will be strongly encouraged to follow-up with their doctors.
“Personal health management is a priority for everyone,” he continued. “The free services at this great expo allow women to learn more about their health concerns so they might prevent a minor problem from becoming a major problem.”
This is the first year for the St. Rose/HaysMed partnership at the expo; HaysMed and Centura Health co-own St. Rose.
“HaysMed is making the expo offerings especially exciting this year,” Mingenback said. “It will allow us to explain the many, many benefits of our two organizations working as a team to provide excellent health care.
“St. Rose always has enjoyed good feedback at this event,” he added. “Participants genuinely appreciate the real benefits they gain by speaking to our medical professionals and through the health-care screenings.”
